Camino de Santiago Day 12: Belorado

Rolling Hills and Sunflower Fields!

I had a gorgeous walk today; about 14 miles through rolling hills and sunflower fields. Of course it’s not season for sunflowers but when I close my eyes I can imagine how beautiful they must be in bloom.

Today I made a big decision. I bought some new Tevas that are built to walk in for the full day. They are a game changer. The comfort, support, and did I mention fashion statement these sandals bring to the Camino are unparalleled. As you know, your feet are your post important asset during this journey, so it’s so important to take care of them.

Tonight we are in a lovely Albergue in Belorado, Cuatro Cantones. I highly recommend this wonderful place and make sure you take advantage of their incredible pilgrim meal. Three courses and wine for a nominal price. They also have this great statue right out front.

Tonight I am headed to bed a bit early because we have a big day ahead of us. Only 14 miles but “they” say there is a big climb ahead of us.

Until then, Buen Camino!

I LOVE that albergue! Is the pool out back open still?? We met some of the coolest guys there from London who were biking the Camino. They gave us a great tip to go to a wonderful place called El Molino (the one featured in The Way). https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187491-d1862570-Reviews-El_Molino-Burgos_Province_of_Burgos_Castile_and_Leon.html). If you can GO THERE!!! It is worth it. The meal, the atmosphere, the hosts. Milagros is a gem!!!!
